WASHINGTON – Oct. 14, 2009 – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has granted $1.2 million to local housing agencies throughout Florida charged with helping Florida families facing foreclosure, seeking affordable rental housing or hoping to buy their first home.

The following Florida agencies, listed by city, received grants. In select cases, a single agency received more than one grant if the money was earmarked for different community needs:
